Graduate Program
Wake Forest and Georgetown University have instituted a five-year cooperative degree program in Latin American Studies. Under this program, highly motivated and outstanding undergraduate students who minor in Latin American and Latino Studies at Wake Forest have the opportunity to begin working towards Master of Arts in Latin American Studies prior to their graduation, thereby, earning a Masters and a Bachelors degrees in just five years. Students spend four years in Winston-Salem, earning a B.A. from Wake Forest, and a fifth year in Washington, D.C., earning a M.A. from Georgetown.
How to Apply
To apply, students should declare an interest in the program during their junior year of undergraduate study by contacting Dr. Peter Siavelis, WFU Politics and International Affairs. Students must undergo Georgetown’s regular graduate application process; however, applicants will not be required to submit GRE scores. If accepted to the M.A. program, Georgetown University will then determine, on an individual basis, the number of undergraduate Wake Forest credits that will count towards the M.A. degree.
